Yahoo Launching New Ad Campaign Tomorrow With ‘It’s You’ Tagline

Yahoo Inc. would be launching its new ad campaign tomorrow that is on Tuesday, the 22nd September 2009. It seems like Yahoo is putting in great marketing efforts in this project. The information has been furnished by some of the team members who are working towards it in Yahoo. They have also said that the company would be using “It’s You” as the new tagline for the this new launch.
One of the team members who discussed with the media has said that the Y in the new tag line ‘It’s You’ is the Y from ‘Yahoo’. The person has also said that the exclamation point that it normally found in Yahoo would also pop up along with the tag line. Though Yahoo has declined to say anything more about the marketing efforts, resources say that the ads are being created by Ogilvy & Mather, a unit of Dublin-base WPP PLC.
It seems that the global marketing campaign that Yahoo is working on is focused on personalization and making it easy for people to understand on how they can use Yahoo for navigating all their services and other information that is available online. It is also expected that this search company would be introducing new tools that would help users to customize Yahoo products like Yahoo.com that has recently been updated making it possible for supporting links to third party software like Facebook.
The campaign is seriously going on Yahoo labels and banners can be seen all over New York. These huge Yahoo signs are plastered on huge buildings and in other malls and other eating-places where the movement of people is more.
The buzz about the new campaign has built up since the chief executive officer of Yahoo Ms. Carol Bartz disclosed about the new campaign to investors in summer. She had also invited all reporters to be present when the campaign would actually be launched on Tuesday. Ms. Carol Bartz has specified that the campaign would really be huge and would change the mentality of the people who do not appreciate the reach of Yahoo, as they pretty impressed by other products from other companies like Google available in the market. The whole Yahoo team is expecting this change from the people’s side.
Though the estimated cost for the campaign is not available, Ms. Carol Bartz in the call for the second quarter earnings of the company in July said that the third quarter would include the amount of money spent on the marketing campaigns. During the meet, she had said, “We’re really going to move to reposition the Yahoo brand and Yahoo the company”. The new ad campaign that would be launched tomorrow is expected to create a buzz. However, it is not sure on whether it would be as good as the recent ad campaigns that are launched by other companies.
