Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

An upgraded version of Google Chrome for Windows has been released by Google with many updates and changes. This version of Google Chrome would be available for Windows and not for Linux or Mac OS X. However, sources reveal that Google also has plans of releasing the Beta version of Google Chrome for Mac. The bookmarking feature, Google Sync to bookmark was earlier introduced by Google to be used in multiple machines. Users would now be able to bookmark among multiple systems and would not be restricted to have bookmarking among multiple browsers alone. This new upgrade that has been made is an extension of Xmarks that is widely used for bookmarking.

Chrome’s message based sync technology has been used to synchronize Google Chrome bookmarks with Google bookmarks service. Google Chrome bookmark users would now also be able to get linked with iGoogle and Google Toolbar and would be able to avail better service. Google Chrome now has been launched as three different versions and they are as follows: developer preview, beta and stable edition. The current version of Google Chrome beta version that has been released includes many new important features like Native Client and WebGL. Native Client is a feature that would help users in running JavaScript applications without any problem. WebGL would also help users in accomplishing the same task with hardware accelerated graphics as it has an unique 3D interface.

The industry is soon expecting the release of the beta version of Google Chrome for Mac. This has also been confirmed by one of the Chrome programmers Mr. Mike Pinkerton. While talking about their goals, he has said, “Our goal for this Friday is to be able to count our Mac P1 M4 release blocker bugs on one hand (we’re in the 20s now). He has also said that Google is willing to put more manpower onto the Mac version in order to get it ready as soon as possible.

When compared to the market share value of Google’s Chrome, it has been seen that there is a good increase in percentage in October. However, Google Chrome is still far away in percentage from the top two master browsers, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Mozilla’s Firefox. One good thing about Google Chrome is that it is taking all possible efforts to increase the performance of its browser by increasing the speed by which its browser loads web pages, software and its efficiency to run JavaScript applications that are web based in a very short time.

Chrome programmers Mr. Idan Avraham and Anton Muhin have written in their blog that they have concentrated on improving the speed of the browser in various aspects in this beta version of Chrome. They have also mentioned that Google Chrome has got 30 percent increase in the performance score since their current stable release and its performance is measured by Mozilla’s Dromeao DOM Core tests.
