In SEO news, the rumor circulating about BING is that they are getting ready to expand their social index to include at least two more networks. 4Square was the latest big player to be added in, and although there is plenty of speculation as to who may be next, there is no clear cut favorite among SEOs trying to stay one step ahead of the game. In fact, no one can eve seem to pick any specific platforms, but there are some general ideas.
A leading favorite is that a major travel platform might be coming onboard. It seems to make sense to some degree, but it isn’t wholly fitting with anything already in the index. Alerts and deals are already handles pretty capably and calling these sites social isn’t wholly true either. The more logical guess has been adding more review sites to the social family so that users have more options and input.
Bing has yet to weigh in on the latest round of rumors, but they have stated in the past that they plan to expand in a methodical manner. While most people were thinking along the lines of MySpace or similar social sites, it appears as though Bing is looking to create a somewhat different vision that serves people on the go and is more advertiser friendly.
