New Google Billboard Campaign Launched

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Google has expanded its ‘Gone Google’ campaign to countries like Canada, U.K, France, Australia, Singapore and Japan too. Google has done this, as it believes that the campaign it introduced works. Google has in fact claimed that more than 20 million people have started using Google Apps after it introduced the “Gone Google” as a marketing strategy for its promotion. They have also said that more than 2 billion businesses have adopted Google Apps and other Google services for their businesses.
Google on its official blog has created a plug for all the companies that have started using Google Apps and other services like Postini Spam filtering and other Google’s Enterprise Search Appliance. Google considers this increase in users as a great achievement and this is the main reason behind the expansion of the billboard campaign in other countries as well.
Before a couple of months, Google had asked its users to tweet why they use their services and the benefits of using online apps and service. Google has now made use of all those tweets and gathered all those tweets displaying it at GoogleAtWork in Twitter page. Through the marketing campaign ‘Gone Google’ that Google is now using, it is now able to relate the feedback from business customers who are using Google Apps now after using other services and being dissatisfied. It has been told as follows, “no longer have to deal with the hassles of managing e-mail servers or rolling out software updates.”
Billboard advertising are also a part of ‘Gone Google’ marking campaign and it aims at having billboard advertisements in public places like airports, railway stations, restaurants and other places where the public traffic is more. Google is confident that this campaign surely works and is very satisfied by the results. This is why it wants to try out the same marketing strategy in other countries like Canada, U.K, France, Australia, Singapore and Japan. Google, this time as well, is sure that the advertising campaign would bring good results.
Google Apps that include Gmail, Google Docs and Google Calendar are noticed to be used more by large businesses that are in need of more software and at the same time are looking for sophisticated software that are available for a cheaper price. Google has taken complete advantage of this requirement and is offering all these required services at a cheaper price and free as well. Google has also made many clever arrangements that motivate users to use Google Apps.
Google was earlier not very much interested in having its services marketed through advertisements but believed in spreading awareness about its services through word of mouth. However, it has been noted now that it is using TVs, billboards and all other possible sources of advertisements to popularize Google Apps.
