After reports of an overwhelming majority vote that reseated Yahoos incumbent board members, it has been reported that the third party that does the ballot calculations actually made an error. Yang and his buddies are still in like Flynn – just not by nearly as much margin as was supposed.
The original tally came out with Yang being back from CEO by over 85% of the shares, while Bostock edged in with just under 80%.
The revised calculations paint not nearly so bright a picture, with percentages in the 60’s. It has to be a bit of a blow to the ego, after facing down Microsoft, fighting Icahn to a standstill and managing to win the election in the first place!
The revised results show a much more disgruntled shareholder attitude than had been hoped, but really, some complaining and snorts of disgust were expected.
