Google has included another creative set of features in its search engine. Google now allows users with these new set of features to access information in real time. These features are a result of the advancement in search technology that Google has made and shows how fast the information that is generated can be processed. It has been said that it would be available worldwide in the next two days. The announcement about the new features was made by Mr. Amit Singhal via video conferencing from Google’s head office at Mountain View, California. During the conference, he has discussed about how the search technology has been taken to new heights at Google. He said, “There was a time when search engines would crawl the web once a month, now the crawling was done every few minutes. But the web has grown at an even faster rate.”
Resources have said that the real time search feature would completely change how the information is accessed at Google. It has also been said that Google search results page would no longer be static but that it would be kept updated every second. The search results page at Google would now have a box named as ‘Latest results’. This box would be updated and all the latest information that are published online would be updated here. Even information that is published at various news websites and blogs would also be made available. There is also a ‘Pause’ button close to the ‘latest results’ box . Clicking this ‘pause’ button would stop the update and the flow of information.
New affiliations have been made with all the top social networking websites including MySpace, FriendFeed, Jaiku, Facebook, etc. These new tie-ups will help Google in its endeavor on real time search. The new search option will be called Updates. Users will be able to search the updates made by those in public status in these social networks.
This new feature of Google will be highly helpful for users who want to keep track of certain events. This feature will now be enabled with Twitter updates. Soon it will incorporate Facebook and MySpace.
The new real time search feature will be made available in all the phones that use Android. This service will also be extended to Windows mobiles and Symbian mobiles.
Google real time search is indeed a feat of the latest search technology. This new feature has taken Google one step ahead of the rest of the search engines. This again asserts that Google is the industry leader. Both Twitter and Facebook confirm their deal with Google. Google may have many such new surprises to its users in the coming year to ensure that it continues to hold the largest part of the market share when it comes to search technology.
