The new keyword tool released by Google AdWords has a interesting concept behind it - it expects that humans make errors.
Well, duh! The existing keyword tool is designed for the user to plug in relevant keywords and phrases. It then returns a bunch of suggestions based on what you enter. If you screw up, and don‘t enter something, tough. You‘re out of luck.
The new and ’improved’ tool, dubbed Search-based keyword tool, lets users plug in their website along with just a few keywords. Then the tool takes a look at the site and starts making suggestions for keywords that could be important to your paid search campaign.
The idea is that the tool will pick up on terms that are being searched for that you might be missing out on. Of course, we all wonder if we have missed something that is just staring us in the face, and somehow we are lacking in our paid search efforts. Wouldn’t it just be awful if we missed out on a term that could make the difference in our traffic and kick start our site?
Of course, we do know that thousands sites are already optimized for keyword terms. The old fashioned way of conducting paid search campaigns depends on traditional keyword research, which often starts with - you guessed it - a guess.
The existing AdWords keyword tool depends solely on human entry, leaving human error as a big stumbling block in the road. This tool looks at your site in real time and can help you avoid overlooking terms you could have missed.
Of course, the tool is still in beta; and Google makes sure you know that it’s not responsible if you use their suggested keywords to break the law - particularly laws having to do with trademarked terms.
