Google’s New Adwords Editor

Google has launched a new editor for Adwords and the latest Adwords Editor 6.5 comes with a number of useful features for the advertisers. The latest version is developed to make life easier for the advertisers. You will be able to manage your account much more easily now with the Keyword Opportunities Tool, Auto-sizing Columns, Horizontal Scrolling in the Data View etc.

When you login to your Adwords account, you will be asked to upgrade to the new version of Adwords Editor. The upgrade will take place in a seamless way and it will not affect your existing settings in any way. Your comments or other changes  will remain even after the upgrade. You just need to choose ‘Update without Backup’ option. You don’t have to anything further towards the upgrade, that is it. In case you are new to Adwords, you can directly download the latest Adwords Editor 6.5 to start with.

Adwords Editor is a free application for all Adwords subscribers. The latest Adwords Editor 6.5 has the following new features.

Keyword Opportunities Tool, which will help you come up with new keywords. You can generate keyword ideas through single keywords or through phrases through keyword expansion feature. Through the keyword multiplier, you can put lists of terms together to get new keywords.

The next area of improvement is to be seen in data view. Now you can double click your column header in the editor to auto-size your column. You can do this either changing the individual column or all the columns together. Now horizontal scrolling is also a possibility. You can use the Data picker tool to set your campaign’s start date and end date. You can also get the date ranges for your performance statistics through the data picker tool.

As per the latest version, new names have been assigned to your account export options. The new names for Export to CSV, Export for Archiving, Export for Sharing, Export to HTML are respectively, Export Spreadsheet (CSV), Export Backup (AEA), Export Changes for Sharing (AES), Export Summary (HTML).

As per the latest options, you can view your export details that include date and time, currency and related information at the time of export. You can also now select specific campaigns to export which was originally available only for CSV export.
You also have new editing options such as Copy campaign or ad group shells, which allow you to copy your old campaign or ad group and paste the campaign in a new location.

Your content bids too are simplified to a great extent now. All that you need to do now is to specify the bid on the tab that is meant for the Ad Groups. This was not the case before, originally, you had to activate the content bids for your campaign by checking the appropriate box that was available in the Campaigns Tab. You will find this checkbox now in the latest editor. Adwords editor tool allows you make multiple changes in a faster and easier way.
