Google is in the process of launching a new search tool for MAC OS. This new search tool is to make our searches easy and fast. Many of us would have heard of this free application named Quicksilver, which is an application launcher for the Mac systems. This has been a free application for all along. The same developer who has developed Quicksilver has developed the Google Quick Search tool for the MAC OS. Nicholas Jitkoff is the developer who is behind this popular MAC tool.

There has been complaints all along from the MAC users that all Google’s new features and tools first reach the Windows users and it takes a quite a bit of time before those tools get MAC support. For a change now with this Google Quick Search tool, the initial version of the tool is supporting the MAC version. This search and launch application will make our searches more efficient and fast at the same time.

Google’s Quick Search goes further from being a basic application launcher that we see in Quicksilver. It goes beyond that and offers enhanced features such as performing content specific actions. This new tool is capable of drilling down into the application and the content and bring up options that are specific to the application or the content. The idea behind this feature is to launch specific actions from Google Quick Search tool without having to launch the application first to get to the application specific actions. For instance, if you want use your contact card, you will be able to find all possible options relating to the contact card such as email option, IM chat option etc.

Google in its official blog says, “One of our goals at Google is to make your search experience as fluid as possible. While much of our work is focused on Google.com, we’re trying to make it just as easy to search outside your browser.”

Google Quick Search will become a versatile tool indeed when it is made usable outside the browser. Though Google’s Quick Search is not a completely new tool given the fact that Quicksilver has already been there as a free tool, Google Quick Search tries to cover new area by making the tool more powerful. You will be able to get suggestions as you type like you find in mobile phone word suggestion tool from the loaded dictionary. This applies for your searches in the internet as well as your desktop search. This will make your internet searches too fast. You can avoid typo graphical errors while making your searches. This also has useful keyboard shortcuts for a new site search.

The full version of the tool is yet to be launched as of now it is a prototype. This free application is currently available only for MAC systems. Soon it will also support Windows and Linux as well.
