Wow! What a cool concept! Now that Bing has established its long-rumored partnership with Wolfram Alpha, they are formally announcing the launch of the new collaboration. The duo is planning to strike out into previously uncharted waters by featuring easy to access results in the fields of both mathematics and nutrition.
Microsoft’s search engine Bing will be working in tandem with Wolfram Alpha to encourage their users to make smarter and intelligent diet choices. This means they will be featuring a new nutrition tab, which will be offering extensive information about any type of food product or item that is being searched.
The nutrition facts labels will be prominently displayed at the bottom of the search results page . In addition, it’s reported that Bing intends to display a Body mass index (BMI) calculator from Wolfram Alpha. This way, users can both count calories and figure sugar and carb rations while calculating their BMI right on the webpage.
The Bing-Wolfram Alpha deal is also expected to allow math geeks to search for any kind of computational results and data. According to a statement from Bing, these new features driven by Wolfram will be rolled out for the US users in the next few days. The Bing website is featuring three video interview clips with founder of Wolfram Alpha, Stephen Wolfram.
Bing has released a report of the state of the search engine. They detailed the new features and tools which have been added in the past months since its launch, and talk about what the site has learnt through usage patterns and focus group testing. The company also says they intend to add even more new features and tools in order to maintain the most user friendly experience possible.
